What is the biggest lift for the explorer?

However big you want to go! I have aftermarket and home built suspension lift on mine. Total of 10 3/4" front, 10 1/2 back with 3" body lift. I cruise the highway daily and hit the back roads a lot and it works for me.

Info on V-6 to V-8 swap

I have a 1991 Explorer 2-door with the 4.0 V-6. Just bought an excellent running motor out of a 1998 Lincoln. It's a 5.0 HO V-8 complete. What would be involved , parts etc., or suggested threads to do this type of swap. Thanks.

    Need info on rearend swap

    Need info on rearend swap

Awhile back someone had stated that a certain year of Ranger rearend would bolt up to the Explorer because the springs were spaced the same width so you didn't have to modify to fit. This way it would be easier to lift it. Anyone know what year and rearend info?

    Many problems/some answers?

Thanks. I do seem to remember on prior posts that the question was brought up about not having proper back pressure. I located an aftermarket but still proper catalytic converter and will get that to see if it helps ease the power loss. Also the the gearing sounds right to. Thanks. Anything...

Just intoducing my ride and me

Hi. I live on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation about 120 miles south of Sturgis, S.D. One of my rides is a 1991 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4X4 2-door. It has a 4.0 V-6 which I have to say has given me quite a bit of miles. It has a body lift of 3-inches, 33X12.50X15 Apache tires on 12X15 rims...
