    Window Tint Question

Thanks for the reply. The new law is interesting because you can also get pulled over if you are from out of state for this. I find that ridiculous. You can't travel to the state if you aren't in compliance with the tint laws? However, it's probably something that won't be enforced much.

    Window Tint Question

Does anyone have the factory visablity percentage for the 1994 4x4 Explorer? Georgia just passed a law, effective today saying they will only allow 35% visability. I'm not sure what the explorer's is but it seems to me that they are tinted pretty good. Too many cops can't see inside cars and one...

    1991-1994

I really truely hate that I waited to get this 1st Gen Ford I own because it fits what I want to a "T". I gotta honestly say I love this truck and didn't really expect to because I got it because it was a good deal. The engine on this thing is work of art....it doesn't have great power. Just so...

    No Movement On Temperature Gauge!

Just to update you guys.... I needed a new thermometer as most of you suggested. Also, needed another o2 sensor and heat sending unit. The whole thing ran about $400.00 bucks but it definitely wasn't something that should have been ignored. The funny thing is....on my way to get this...

I need new shocks and brake pads, what should I get?

Sorry, I 'm responding to this late. Getting over the flu...but I have used quite a few and speaking generally I would go with the Ranchos. A lot of things about shocks are so personal and depends on what type of driving your doing. Some people actually like that stiff shock feeling for...

    Meguair's NXT Generation Spray Wax

I haven't used that pad since I was 16..LOL. It doesn't cover enough space. Pre-washed terry cloth is good...you don't want lint...and of course a diffrent cloth to remove. Gotta remove the wax by wiping in a diffrent direction than you used applying of course. Also, depending on how the...

    Meguair's NXT Generation Spray Wax

I've used about 15 diffrent products and they all seem to be similar in many respects and very diffrent in others. One reason I prefer Mequires is the systematic and thorough way the product line approaches getting your car to look like new. Now, you will and do see people that don't like how...

    Meguair's NXT Generation Spray Wax

I swear by the meguair's product line...get the professional series...it's totally awesome...not overly expensive but I think it's the best...particularly if you stick to thier system.

I need new shocks and brake pads, what should I get?

Sway bars ain't a bad move...don't go too cheap on the shocks though or you will be buying more sooner than you'd like...and pay in the long run anyway. I would just do one set at a time since money is a factor. Maybe the rear shocks first? $40.00 will be worth the money...you could get down and...

    which engine?

Yeah the thing about the 4.0 OHV engine that is great is it's weakness as actually it's strenth if your not in dire need for more power. The fact that the engine is designed to perform at it's peak on the low end...(Peak Torque 2800 RPM's I think) and max horse power around 3300 RPM's...

I need new shocks and brake pads, what should I get?

I agree with the post that stated that this question is a little vague. You have to take stock of what you bought your vehicle for. Are you off roading?..or is this a family car for the wife to share. Do you do any towing? You plan modifications? Generally speaking, monroe shocks and the brakes...

    Drive or Overdrive in city

I found and checked my manual just to make double sure...hadn't looked at the thing in ten years....LOL. However, it does specificly say pg 160 that the normal driving position is Overdrive. I have the 4X4 4wheel drive and not the All Wheel drive newer models though. I have had a few cars over...

    Drive or Overdrive in city

There isn't any functional diffrence bettween Drive and Overdrive in the city. The diffrence between the two gears exist for highway driving. People use overdrive in the city so they don't need to change to overdrive before getting on the highway and remember to keep shifting back and forth from...

    Drive or Overdrive??

Good Point! I live in atlanta...which is really flat...but if I lived in Tallahassee or something, you probably don't want to keep it in OD.

    Drive or Overdrive??

Okay, he must be referring to in town towing I imagine? I am thinking he is...if not, a properly running tranny should adjust properly. It's designed to automaticly shift in overdrive triggered by various gear shift mechanisms related to the speed of your vehicle. The only time it will shift...

    Drive or Overdrive??

I agree with this comment....it's safer to just tow in overdrive.

    Remote Trans Filter

No offense takin!!! I have a similar interest and I saw your thread. Believe me, I think folks here are wise enough not to speak about things they don't know about. The last thing you would want are my comments because I don't know what the heck I am talking about when it comes to Trannys. I...

    good replacement spark plug wires

Typicly the variance with Performance wires and Stock wires doesn't take effect unless everything your doing is performance geared. If it isn't, your better off with stock because it's really a waste of extra money.

    which engine?

This pretty much hits the nail on the head for me too. I love durability so I love the 4.0 OHV. I think that the 5.0's are okay but most of the features they offer are wants vs. needs. I want an economical truck and it's bad enough these vehicles suck on gas. The power you get, I believe at this...

    Drive or Overdrive??

I hope this helps.... When you are in Overdrive your transmission (automaticly) acts according to your driving speed or (RPM's). Actually, there is no diffrence between drive and overdrive on this level. However, if you run your car in Drive it will not automaticly shift to overdrive at...

How does the new Mobil1 E.P. stack up compared to Amsoil?

Manuals will generally tell you to change your oil every 3,000 miles. This was by and large the case before the 90's but with the way cars are built today you can easily change your oil every 5,000 miles. Right now 3,000 miles is for conservative that want to be extremely safe....but it's not...
