    Broken swaybar end link

Thanks guys! I noticed Summit Racing sells many of the Energy Suspension endlinks, are the "universal" ones the right ones to buy? and how long should they be?

    Broken swaybar end link

So I was installing new shocks today and I noticed my front passenger side end-link to the swaybar was completely disconnected. The body and bottom nut to the end-link are still there, but there is no connector anymore between the top of the end-link to the swaybar itself. Do you guys know...

Anyone know the product # for Amsoil EaO filter

hey guys, Does anyone know what the produt number is for the Amsoil EaO filters on a 1995 explorer OHV v6? I've read their cross-reference guide, and it seems to me that it could be any of the following numbers: 11, 13, 15, 20, 34. So any help sorting this out would be great. thanks.

    Anyone ever seen this before?

I think that discovery channel show monster garage did something like this. I heard the MPG on those is like 5, lol.

HELP: Horrible Misfire(???) at idle and when accelerating

A failing fuel filter would be a slow and gradual loss of power, not a sudden misfire. Try plugs/wires first, look for loose connections.

    Smoothest Ride

the eidelbrocks provide excellent handling, but have very poor ride quality and off-road durability though.

    No Cost PCV Valve Replacement?

PCV valves are dirt cheap anyways, to replace them takes mabye 5 minutes. Still, even for a cheap and fast service, I'm surprised a dealer would ever do anything for free.

    best oil filter?

If I remeber correctly some taxi cab company used bypass filtration w/ amsoil, welded the drain plugs shut and saw very little wear after quite awhile. At any rate the UOA data al posts proves that the oil can still be clean at very long change intervals.

    thermostat how to?

what exactly does that do anyways? keep the coolant from building up pressure in the block?

    Monroe Reflex shocks

do you think they would have lasted at least 60k if you stayed on the road?

    thermostat how to?

Be sure to lay some cardboard over the holes under the thermostat housing, I almost lost a couple bolts down there, it would not be fun to go and find them after they fall in the 'engine abyss'. Also make sure you drain all the coolant out before you open the housing up. (to avoid coolant...

    Gas Mileage going South

haha consider yourself lucky, you're OBDII. my 95 is really in the stone age when it comes to troubleshooting compared to the 96+ trucks. With the way I drive, i've given up on fuel economy, 12 MPG is my norm. Granted I do all city driving, with lots of hills, and mostly short trips. Have...

    Dead Temp Gauge

I replaced the thermostat saturday, so I doubt my new one is defective. I've found that the gauge seems to engage as the engine warms up. After 15 minutes of driving, the gauge without hitting a bump, flicks to life, or sometimes works once I start the car in the morning.

    finished snorkel

Looks great! You should shield the front of the snorkel from windblown rain driven at highway speeds. The set up will definitely block rain at low speeds, but when you get going faster I suspect the water will get pushed up and over the cap.

    Dead Temp Gauge

okay thanks jtsmith, Do you think there is any possability that the wire itself may be coming out of the connector boot? or would a dead connection be only a fault with the connectors itself?
  22. S

    Dead Temp Gauge

where would be a good place to start looking? how can I tell where a dead connection is?
  23. S

    Dead Temp Gauge

lol yeah, well I changed everything out, and the gauge worked fine during all the flushes, but the time I turned it on to take it for a test drive, of course, the gauge died on me again. So I'm assuming the next logical step is to get a code reader and try to figure out what the comp. is...

    changing plugs...

If you're up for removing the front tires that will save you some bloody knuckles (going at it from underneath is a bit easier if you have the room). Also a swivel socket wrench works wonders because unfortunately only one plug is somewhat easy to access... Just follow the spark plug wires...
