as far as wiring... why cant you use the 12v that locks the stock fan clutch on as the 12v that trips the new electric fan relay ?

i was reading this just yesterday in the Haynes manual, i have never heard of different plugs for different sides of motors.... just seemed weird, but that one poster was saying about the coating being on just 1/2 the plug is understandable with the mentality of ford's cost cutting

i used the Xcal on the explorer, honestly, is the extra HP going to help... NO the driveability is better, but, in all honestly... its 400$ better spent on something else.

ahhh didnt know that pulley drove the water pump, good thing the water pump is driven by an accessory belt huuh. im bidding on a electric fan on ebay, lets see what next week brings!

what about removing the entire pulley assembly, and getting a shorter belt? since belts are sold by rib count and length, so it can be very easily done. Or infact get the belt from the 4.0L mustang?? comments?

my front dif has been leaking for 2 years, its a TSB, but im out of warranty, so im not fixing it

i have'nt looked under the hood yet, but are you guys just disconnecting the blades off the fan clutch? or is there a few bolts to remove the clutch AND blades.

i have heard that MACs are pretty loud.. lets say, if your driving with your wife in the car, would the MAC exhaust be too loud ?

had the same issue with the 2005 XLT i have. it has nothing to do with the transmission. its the computer and the way its programmed

doing the math, if you got an increase of 3 MPG doing this mod, and it cost you 300$ 3 mpg is about 11% increase in millage. (22Mpg vs 19mpg) 11% of a 40$ fill up is 4.4$ 4.4$ / 300$ = 68 Tanks at 2$ a gallon. 68 tanks or 29920 Miles the nice thing would be that your range for...

dont worry about gas millage, it will only depress you. these trucks are engineering flukes, you will never have decent millage no matter what motor

do the 4.0L and the 4.6L share the same exhaust setup? if they do, i believe you can use that muffler on the 4.0L as well

58K on my 05' XLT. i sometimes get an odor of oil in the exhaust on startups. i suspect its because im using 5-30 synthetic oil. other than that, i have a leaky 1/2 shaft seal up front, and a ABS / speed sensor issue (3rd time now) i guess for a 4 year old car, these issues are "OK"

seems like the auto trans likes to hand around 3K, so i was thinking if the mustang intake was tuned better for this range

has anyone even attempted this. i was looking at the mustang 4.0L the other day, looks like a direct bolt on. larger diameter runners, and they are much shorter, looks to really be built for the mid band - upperband comments ?

i dont know the HP gains, but the improvement in driveability and transmission shifting is WELL worth the price
