    2.3 EcoBoost, tuning? Performance?

I know they've tuned the Mustang, Focus RS and Lincoln MKC 2.3's, but can't say about the Explorer. From the gains the 2.3 has shown, a tuned one in the explorer would certainly be more exciting than a tuned NA 3.5. Their tuned NA 3.5 gained decent power throughout the RPM IIRC.

    2.3 EcoBoost, tuning? Performance?

Livernois has a tune for your NA 3.5. Might give you that extra pep you're looking for.

    Limited02's 2002 Ford Explorer - Dember/January 2012-2013 TOTM Winner

This is the last picture I took before I sold it just over a year ago (12/31/2015) and it had 212,000 miles on it. Contacted the new owner a few weeks ago and he said it was still running strong! Last mods I did was change to blacked out headlights with clear corners, painted the calipers red...

Front end clunk but only in Auto 4x4

No, but now you're 100% 2wd. Do you plan to find and resolve the issue? Yelling is okay because I'm hard of hearing

    5th gen 20" rims on a 3rd gen

Same for the 3rd gen: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/5th-gen-rims-on-4th-gen.363569/ I've seen a 3rd gen with 5th gen limited wheels around here and no idea what he did to make it fit. My assumption is he used wheel adapters to make it happen.

    Transmission help anyone?

So if you drive normal and come to a stop in a normal fashion, there's no issues on takeoff? Do you have any leaks around the transmission? My first thought is you are low on transmission fluid and there is no real easy way to tell since you don't have a dipstick.

    Researching the '16 expl

The Platinum model is pretty much fully loaded with very few options available. I personally like the seat stitching of the Platinum but most importantly, the 3.5TT EcoBoost motor. I have that motor in my Lincoln MKS and man, it moves out! So if you are stuck between the two, the motor alone...

    My new DD/baby hauler

After almost 10 years of driving my 2002 Ford Explorer Limited 4x4 V8, it was time for a change. The Explorer I did cat-back exhaust, CAI, tune, slightly lowered on 20's with 20% tint, removed the roof rack and it ran a best of 15.1 in the 1/4 mile. It was a great DD for me and did everything...

Let's see, what can I powdercoat today?

Here are my wheels that Jon did in "Super Chrome" and I thought the end result was more of a polished aluminum look (which is exactly what I wanted). Just another idea ;)

    transmission question

Forgot to respond to the rear end shudder. Does it happen only when a accelerating while turning, straight or both? If you have the tow package, it's a rather common problem (plus rear end whine at speed). Mine would shudder when accelerating while turning only. I replaced my rear...

    transmission question

I can't say for sure if it's the solenoid pack or a worn servo bore. Around the 100k mark, mine was acting up like yours and I had the transmission rebuilt because the servo bore was worn out. Put another 100k on and it was still shifting good when I sold it. I'll see if I can find another...

    99 Ranger Repaint

Would you guys recommend against buying an 04?

I personally had an '02 (sold on 12/31/2015 :() that I owned for almost 10 years. I LOVED every minute of it and would recommend any year between 02-05. If the previous owner maintained it, you should be fine for the most part. Mine had 212,000 miles on it and the only thing I replaced on the...

What can i do to my explorer?

A good set of tires and make sure it's mechanically sound. Other than that, I wouldn't waste any more money on it. Post some pictures when you can!

    towing

I would look into installing a deep sump transmission pan to hold more fluid and/or install a larger oil cooler to help keep the temps down. It's heat that causes the most damage and if you can keep the heat down, you should be good for the long haul.

customising headlight housings for 2011+ explorers

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181708094779?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D181708094779%26_rdc%3D1#vi-ilComp Can't really say why they don't fit the Sport as I'm not aware of the difference. Main thing is the Sports are blacked out? Other than that...

    E85 experience?

When I run it in my wife's Milan, it seems more responsive. The owners manual actually says it gains 10 hp over regular 87 (from 240hp to 250hp with E85). However, it drops about 3 mpg average from what I recall.

How to: Manual Transmission in 4.6 V8 4X4

Mountaineers are more common with AWD, but a few did come with selectable 4x4. OP - Pics aren't working? If you can paste the link of where they are on the SHO forum, I can help you paste them here.

User reviews on HID kits (consolidated)

Very happy with the kit I got from theretrofitsource.com for my wife's 2010 Milan. You may spend a few more bucks, but you get a very solid kit.

    Drop in Rpm on startup

My first guess would be that you need to clean the IAC valve. I had a similar problem when mine wouldn't hold idle and died when the temps were freezing. I'd have to keep on the gas and after about 15 min or so, it'd come back to life and run normal. Do both of these and report back...
