Should I go with 5x7's or convert to 6.5's

Heres all I did to put 6.5s in my 2005. Level of difficulty 2. Just traced and then cut the little notch out to let the panel mount back on.

what to you guy think about lanzar

Actuall, they made a Vibe series 1200D that did "1262 watts @ 14 volts, 1007 watts @ 12.8" as read here http://www.carsound.com/review_archive/amps/vibe1200d.html That was before the Viberant series. That and the Opti series get a

    Front door question.

I still have to put the one in the drivers door in so I'll take pics of it, but its basicly straight in the speaker hole on the door skin, stuck with double sided mounting tape. I don't thinks its the best thing, but it worked for the time being. The x-overs are the elemental designs 6000 v.2...

    Front door question.

I have a 2005 four door and put a comp set in the fronts, with the tweets in co-ax set-up. I put the x-overs in the doors, stuck to the inside of the outside sheet metal. I didn't really think of it at the time, but my friend said water could get in the door and get on the x-overs. I really want...

    Subs questions

Yeah Yeah. It all come down to EXPERIMENT. I have had the same speaker in three totally different boxes in the last month. I have noticed many things change from box to box and position to position. There is no replacement for experience, yours or someone elses.

    Subs questions

Having them at the rear like you said gives you "gain" from the sound going up the back hatch and then coming at you along the roof. if you wanted to put a board in front of them and make it work similar, you would have to have it go to the roof and then it wouldn't be the same travel path for...

    Subs questions

Yeah, nothing unusual about that. Things like loading and cancellation make box position something you have to play with. Is the box made for the speaker? did you try pointing them up?

Would you use 2 sets of 2 ways in the front door?

Yes. Two co-ax or comp sets per door is not a terrible thing to do. you wouldn't want to bridge the two sets mono cause then you would lose stereo imaging. Its just alot of speakers in a door when one good pair should do fine. Maybe a three-way comp set with something like a 6.5 inch, 4 inch and...

Would you use 2 sets of 2 ways in the front door?

all four speaker would be 1 ohm mono, but a pair per side is 2 ohm stereo

Would you use 2 sets of 2 ways in the front door?

Right. Not so right. When using properly crossed-over components, they do not reproduce the same frequencies. The tweets do the highs and the mids do the ,well, mids. Therefore, the amp doesn't "see" the two speakers at the same freqs. Each componet set or co-ax speaker is a 4 ohm load so a...
