    91 explorer transfer case and push button control

    I had the same problem with my 91 Explorer. It turns out that I had to push the clutch in while pressing the 4WD Low button on the dash.... Then feather out the clutch to see if it actually engages.

    4x4 Hubs

    Why in the world would you do that????????? The reason for hubs and a transfer case on a 4x4 is to keep the wear on front end drive components to a bare minimum. When you don't need 4 wheel drive, unlock your hubs and put the transfer case in 2wd. THis disconnects all the front driveline...

    I had the same problem, man. My hubs, or should I say hub, was shot. I figured it would be a lot more heavy duty AND cheaper to put on manual hubs. Warn sells a kit just for explorers. You must buy both the hubs AND the conversion kit. It ran me about 200 bucks for the whole thing from 4...

    Does anyone have a recommendation on good tires for sand. I live in Pismo Beach and need a tires with better traction than my Trail T/A's I have on my explorer now.... I plan on getting a 2 inch Dick Cepek body lift. What tires can I fit with and without the body lift???? Thanks in advance...
