    Dtc p1151 and p1152

Rebuilt '99 Explorer 5.0 in a '98 Ranger Supercab. TM headers, 1-inch spacer, true dual Flowmaster exhaust, Henson tune. I'm getting DTC P1151 AND P1152 at the same time. P1151 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 2 P1152 Lack of Upstream Heated...

    Ticking 5.0

Looking for suggestions before I start tearing this motor down...again. '99 XLT 5.0 motor rebuilt and stuffed in a '98 Ranger SC. All new valve train to match the new cam (Comp 35-512-8). Everything else is new except the crank. Torque Monster headers, 1.6 Ford Racing roller rockers with tall...

    Valvetrain Geometry

Rebuilt my first 302 to swap in my '98 Ranger. Aside from being amazed that it even started, I thought it purred like a little kitty. Unfortunately one of my buddies, with a much more trained ear than myself, said he hears lots of valvetrain noise. Now I'm questioning my rocker setup. This...

    COMP Cam Advice

Howdy. I'm looking for a little advise regarding camshaft selection. I know there's a load of information out there, but my question is fairly specific. 1999 XLT 5.0L going into a 1998 Ranger S/C (RWD) for street use. I want a jackrabbit off the line. High RPMs are not critical. Mild to...

    Cleaning Upper and Lower Intake

'99 Explorer 5.0L - I'm rebuilding this engine for a Ranger swap. The intake manifolds, especially the lower, are very nasty. Can I soak them in degreaser or some other cleaner, like acetone? If not, what's the best way to get the inside of those intakes clean? Many thanks.

    Trick Flow a No-Go?

This is actually for a V8 swap into my '98 Ranger, but my donor is a '99 XLT so I'll post here. As long as I have the engine out and disassembled, of course I need to put on TMH with a 1" intake spacer. I'm confused about which spacer to use. The Trick Flow spacers only seem to go up to 1995...

Differential Pinion Shaft Lock Bolt Explosion

Was planning a 302/5.0 swap into my '98 Ranger, but my "doner" ended up being a sweet '99 Explorer XLT with only 60K original miles. My conscience had its way with me and now I'm trying to make the X my daily driver. My first task was to fix those squishy brakes, but in trying to get at the rear...
