    Front Bumper removal

Well, I got the old bumper off and put together the new bumper. It's going back on this afternoon after I wash the ride. Thanks everyone.

    Front Bumper removal

ok, so I was trying to remove the front bumper cover on my 99 XLT and I noticed that there are some very hard to reach screws behind the bumper cover. I checked the other threads and I see it's easier to take off the actual bumper and remove the cover that way, but can anyone tell me if there's...

    Horrible exhaust popping

I know I have to get it fixed, but I know there's more to it than fixing the current problem. I can't slightly press on the gas or the car will stall, so I have to push at least 20% throtle to move. That's been happening ever since I got my Granatelli MAS. Frankly, I think it's a pos because...

    Horrible exhaust popping

Yeah, I have a Granatelli MAS, K&N FIPK, hollowed out cats and a Borla cat-back setup, but no fuel system upgrades and was wondering about my different options. What's the best thing to do first? Fuel Pump or maybe Injectors? I was also looking at getting an Apexi Air Fuel Controller, but...

    Horrible exhaust popping

Last week when I was driving home I noticed my exhaust was making a loud popping noise when I would accelerate. The lower speed acceleration was just about cut in half and the exhaust was slighty louder at idle. I checked the exhaust line from the headers back and there was no apparent holes...

    suspension options for under $1000?

About two weeks ago I did the torsion twist/lowering block 3" drop so that my X would look and handle better, both of which were achieved. The only problem is that the ride is horrible and without anyone trying to fix my alignment or camber, I'm up sh*** creek and will probably have more...

    Tinting muh X

I've had my X tinted at 20 % on the driver and passenger doors and 5 % on every other window(front, 2 rear passengers, 2 rear cargo, rear hatch) and it's incredibly dark. The X is factory tinted too. Everything for $225, lifetime warranty. :afro:

    Rearview mirror removal

Anyone ever remove the metal attachment for the rearview mirror off of the front window? I installed a rearview camera system with a monitor in my center console to see out the back and I want to remove the front mirror from the window.

    too hot?

I checked the plugs again, one of my new plugs was cracked on the porcelain. Bought a new plug, gapped them to .060 and put the Jacobs wires on, everything runs great, a LOT better than before.

    too hot?

One other thing, the exhaust is a white cloud and smells like gasoline so I'm thinking not all the fuel is getting burned, but with new plugs and wires, I figured that problem would be solved.

    too hot?

I recently replaced the spark plugs in my X with regular Bosch Platinums gapped at .57. Today I recieved my Jacobs Ultra Fit spark plug wires and installed them. When I started the car it sounded great, revved good too, but when I drove it a little, I heard a burping from around the exhaust...

    apten chip

I recently bought the apten chip and had a dual code burned for my 99 4.0 OHV X. It's well worth the money from a shifting standpoint alone. I had the rev limiter raised and top speed taken off. The shifting is smoother but there's still a nice pickup between gears. I had one program burned...

    should i buy a 99 xlt v6

I have a 99 V-6 XLT with the OHV. Yes it's slow, but if you're using it for looks then don't worry about it. Personally I think it's a great X. If you want a kick, make sure you get the 210hp version instead, or else it'll cost a LOT to get it fast.

    flashing 4x4 light

First off I know I could solve the problem by going to a dealer, but if anyone knows why this is happening, it would save a lot of trouble. For the past few months I've noticed that the 4x4 and 4x4 low light flash 6 times over a period of about 12 seconds. Then they stop for another 1:48...

too much air, not enough spark

nah, you're right, the CEL is on. I actually got so tired of it I disconnected it. lol. So what kind of power upgrades would you reccomend that's not gonna break the bank. I don't have money for a supercharger. And are there any good aftermarket chips for the X?

too much air, not enough spark

Oh, by the way, what's CEL stand for?

too much air, not enough spark

When the Granatelli isn't on the problems go away and the Explorer works fine. Only problem is I spent the money for the Granatelli and was hoping it would benefit my X. It does give me a decent amount more power and when the X shifts it jumps forward, a nice boost. Should I send the...

too much air, not enough spark

Oh yeah, one more thing, I'm running stock wires and plugs if that helps. I was going to upgrade them anyway, any suggestions?

too much air, not enough spark

Sorry, just getting a little frusterating with trying to find the problem. I've got a OHV 4.0 on my 99 XLT. I have a K&N FIPK with a Granatelli Mass Air Sensor that I ordered from truckperformance.com and a Borla cat-back exhaust. Trust me, I know about wiring so I know to reset the battery...

too much air, not enough spark

Somebody tell me how to boost the spark on my X. I'm having compression issues after I put in my new GMAS. My 99 doesn't have an ignition module, so that's outta the question. Please tell me that plugs and wires aren't my only option...

    99 4.0 Headers

Can any tell me where I can pick up some headers for my 99 4.0? I e-mailed JBA and they told me that their 98's had a different y-pipe than the 99's and that they were researching a 99-01 model. Anyone try running the 98's on a 99?
