October 17, 1989 - My buddy had his Mazda Pickup on four jackstands because he was having the drums and rotors turned at a local machine shop in Fremont, CA. I just agreed to give him a ride over there. It was just after 5 pm (5:04 to be exact)

The truck started bouncing up and down right next to us inside the garage. We watched for a split second before it dawned on us what was happening, then we got the hell away from it. I stood on the driveway watching the garage door opening move from side to side. It felt like standing on the deck of a ship. The truck bounced up and down on the springs, but stayed on the jack stands.
Make sure to place your jack stands securely, especially if you live in earthquake areas.
