a locker basically locks together both back wheels so they both spin at the same speed. When you have an open differential power only goes to 1 wheel. Now say if your offroading with a open differential and you get stuck in some mud or you pull a wheel off the ground, the wheel with the least resistance will spin. People get a locker to prevent things like that.

Stock wheels are 15x7's

Vehicle Specs

your rim size is 15" tall, 7" wide

A locker will lock your differential so that both tires on that axel always spin at the same time. With the stock open or limited slip differential, the wheel with the least amount of traction will usually get most of the power. This is not what you want when you are off-roading and want the most traction you can get. This is achieved using a locker.
