more??

Right now i currently have a 12" L7 (kicker) powered by a jbl gto1201.1. its in a sealed box. I have some restricted breathing when it hits, should i get another one? I also have 4 boston's in the front and rear powered by some kicker amp i bought off a friend. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to replace these with im thinking about the mbquart rce268 b/c the bostons are only 6.25" with a 1" tweeter, they sound good but i think something with the right size would be much better. Any info would be greatly appreciated and anyone selling something useful let me know.

First I'd do some working out, because your cardiovascular system must be pretty bad for a 12" L7 to restrict your breathing.

What are you looking for more of? It seems you have enough bass from your description, so why not look into a component set in front, these typically can (with a good set) emphasize the high frequency response better than a simple coax can. It's not hard to fit a 5 1/4 component set in your doors (Kick Panels are made for X's too.), 6 1/2 would be an option too - with a lil bit more work depending on the depth of the mids.

If you are seeking more loudness out of the higher ranges, maybe your sub is overpowering them, look into components that will handle more power than your existing speakers, and buy an amp that will complement them perfectly.

A simple fix could be the in the form of an additional equalizer, which can allow you to boost or lessen certain frequencies.

Well I have a component set in the front and coax in the back i was just looking to get something that fills the factory holes and not have to ghetto rig the tweeter like I did (this is due to me not wanting to cut holes in anything or spend the money on the kick panels). They sound good but I figure if i could sell them and buy something that fits the holes like the mbquart rce268 (the tweeter is mounted in the center of the speaker, still a component set tho) which a neighbor of mine has and they are crystal clear, simply amazing lol. Yea i quit smoking so im sure im still a little restricted from that lol but im striving for the best one step at a time and still have functionablity along the way, so the bostons were just a temp. until i could afford better.

Yea I thought of that but built a sealed box instead because i wasnt sure if i was going to get another one and didnt wanna spend the time making a ported box if i would just have to build another one. Also I have heard the sealed box's make for tighter quicker bass so thats another reason i went with the sealed box.

Indeed, a single L7 is not oscillating that much air in and out of your lungs...

the mythbusters episode where they were hitting 160dBs (I think it was) in the middle of a field... now I'm pretty sure you would feel that

Take dave's advice though, it is basically exactly what I would have told you.

you've heard. research man d@mn. yeah a sealed box gives a tighter and quicker bass response but a tuned port will give you the low bass that might blow out your weak lungs

Dave isn't that far from hitting 160 so far as i know anyways.

i expect to be above 150 now real comfortably with regular music now as well (still a far ways from 160 though)

most likely this set-up sealed is hitting 140??? thats my best guess anyways.
