Has Ford stopped production on the Limited Explorer? Because I looked all over their site and I couldnt find anything on them, just Sports, Sport Tracs, and XLT's. Whats the deal here?

Don't think so

Edmund's has a review of the 2002 explorer and lists the Limited as an available package. Check it out....

Nope, theres a 2002 Limited. They *may* stop producing the Limited if they do a Lincoln version of the Explorer.

The 2002 Limited and Eddie Bauer will have the same price, same options and exactly the same equipment they will just offer different styles. You will now opt weather you want your top level Explorer to be an EB or Limited.

Wow. So you can opt for the "weather" you want?! Sorry, Stephen, I had to do it. :-)

Talking

Damn! Oh well, it happens to all of us I suppose.

With all the gizmos my Limited has on it, wouldn't surprise me if the new ones controlled the weather.

yep, yep. Have you got that little black deflector on the liftgate Stephen? That thing saved me the other day when I backed into the garage door. If it wouldnt have been there we'd be minus a roof rack.

I just priced one.

I went to the Ford website and built my own but it was probably a 2001. That will just limit the number of limited and make the value of ours go up. Any news on the Limited group? Your are right but I'm figuring out the little bells and whistles. I though something went wrong with the stereo but the headphone button in the back was just pushed, whoops! Is the factory Sub any good in yours, Stephen, I don't know if it is working.

Talking Uh....

Isn't the Limited one of Ford's best selling trimlines for the Explorer...or is that the Eddie Baurer...can you see I don't follow the Explorer's sales?

I think it's the Eddie Bauer that does the best as far as sales go.

Just a note: When stalking Stephen, don't put it in you signature. I know when I stalk him on other boards, I use a clever alias and it throws him off pretty well. I make shrewd comments like; where's Potomac, Maryland? You know, to throw him off if it seems like he's on to me.

Okay guys I'm scared. I'm going to sleep out in the car with my 9 iron tonight to protect my homestead LOL.

The best selling Explorer is the XLT.

The sub in ours works fine, I cant believe how much it booms, it just sounds horrible listening to it hit on the outside. As far as the club thingy, I reckon we could discuss it in the chat room tonight.

talking about the sub in the back,,,,,,, have you ever tried sitting in the back seat when radio is at half of it's valume capability? it's horible. I lowerd my bass to like half now to protect my kid's ears.

Speaking of Limiteds, I think XLT is the best selling since once you opt for the Limited package the price tends to jump up significantly. Not too many people ready to spend around $40k on a truck these days.

Lightbulb The sub, off the subject again

I took the factory sub out and hooked up the speker wires to another speaker and they worked fine. i decided to put my 12" Kicker Impulse in there and the speaker hit pretty hard. Nothing crazy but it sounded perfect. I would say that the factory amp put s out at least 100-150 watts. Not bad for factory, I may get a new 6 1/2" sub for the factory box but the 12" just sounds so good. It was like getting a free amp that I didn't know about and no painstaking and messy wiring.

If you look in the new Motor Trend there is an SUV compero that has a new Explorer Limited. I'm very unimpressed. The outside of the truck is very boring, and has no differentiation from other Explorer trims. There are no special moldings or anything! No pinstripe etc. The same can be said of the interior. The leather has no gathered areas, no special Limited seats, and that new dashboard is boring boring boring. Doesnt seem as luxurious as the current Limiteds at all, and if you ask me the current interior seems more modern, at least from the photos. From their picture you can easily tell how cheap the center console is (no leather armrest like in current Limiteds). I am very dissapointed to say the least.

they are probably getting everyones hopes down about the limited model because they plan on using some new styleing on the limited. or like someone else mentioned, linclon may build a version of the explorer.
