Finally got a real Camera!

well, since I am a high school art teacher (mostly photo) and the strong trend the industry going towards digital, i finally saved my pennies and get a new camera the other day. I picked up a Canon 30D,8.3mp fully manual, plus tons of auto settings, totally love it, I would recomend this camera to any pro, or serious hobbiest. I cant wait till the weather warms up and I can get out more and really put this thing to use. Woohooo for new toys maybe i will upload some of my first shots with it here in a little...

Nice camera, I have a Rebel XTi (I think?) and it's a great camera. You will be able to take some really good pics with that camera.

right now i have the "kit" lens 18-55mm and I also have a 70-300mm lens. I hope to get a much faster lens here sometime in the future because the lowest aperature i have right now is like 3.5.

I almost went with the XTI doug, but there were a few features that I wanted taht it didnt have, and to get them I had to step up to the 30D

the last two pics are of some ivy that is growing next to the front porch of the house...the snow was melting off the top of the roof, dripping onto the ivy and then re-freezing..for these two pics i used my 70-300mm lens with a 4x close up filter (no macro lens).....maybe more at some other time..weather has been crappy so I havent been shooting much, plus I still have alot to learn with this camera, I was all film prior to this...
