AC High Pressure line repair
OK, so I'm an idiot, and my fan belt/idler pulley cut a slit in my AC high pressure line - don't ask. It's gonna be an expensive fix to replace the whole damn line, so I was wondering if I could fix it with a little JB. I don't see why not. If worse comes to worst, it opens back up, and I just lose the money on the recharge.
Glacier - any thoughts? |

Don't jb weld it.. The amount of pressure running thru those lines won't make it last.

you might try this--
slit a 4"-5" chunk of 5/8" hose lengthwise-- apply Quicksteel over the cut http://people.consolidated.net/cargo...uicksteel.html slip the hose over the steel line, with slit 180 degrees away from cut in line-and clamp on either side of cut with hose clamps. |

My advice... NEW line. Period. No "repair" to a high pressure line will last IMHO.

BTW, the AC refrigerant is a green liquid, correct? I thought it was antifreeze at first.

Green is the additive/leak detector that some of the R134a kits have..
