Solid front axle guide

I found this on FSB, and thought it would be good for everyone here.

There are tons of questions asked each month about solid front axles, and while alot of people are very knowledgeable on the subject, alot can be answered by refering to the following guide.

Dana Axle Guide <-- Click it.

So to cut out the middle man, please check here first!

It's a very thourogh guide, and recomended that you bookmark it.

Another one with pics to differentiate the axles.

Here's a couple other links I have found helpful.

The first is nice when digging around in a pile of axles at a junk yard when you have no clue what they came from
http://www.onandoffroad4wheeldrive.com/axle_pics.htm

Some Dana 30 info
http://members.cox.net/rough-riders/...30/dana30.html
http://www.broncohq.com/pdf/66-77/chassis/Dana30.pdf
http://jeephorizons.com/tech/pdf/dan...xle_manual.pdf

I have a few more for the D30, but they cover info that is already covered in the above.

Delete this if it is not wanted here Froader, I won't be offended. I just noticed a lack of D30 info on that link .

Froader, be nice to get all those useful threads under one heading, example. Everything Axels, in a sub forum under Off-roading projects.

*EDIT* it worked this time, my apologies, earlier I tried it and it lead me nowhere. must have been a server issue

Yeah I was looking for the Dodge and D44 CJ5 numbers.

We're try'n to figure out if someone used a stock size shaft in my dad's cut down 44. The short side take a stock Chevy(18.31"). but the long..(if you call it that) is somewhere around 22.5" or so. I think it's going to have to be a custom cut down shaft.
