stock sub with aftermarket amp

i just bought a new amp, sub, and h/u. I noticed that my stock 8" sub in my 2002 ford explorer sport trac stopped working. Is there anyway to get both subs to work? Thanks

Yes, you just need to hook up the remote turn on wire for the factory amp. Not sure the color though. I looked at the sources I have and I can't find the factory amp turn on wire, all the other wires, yes, but not that one of course. I can look at the program at work when I get in next week and tell you though... Hopefully that one has it, it better for $400 a year....

Dont use different subs, they will cancel each other making the sound a little awful.

Only if they are out of phase. If they are both hooked up the same, ie: + to +, - to -, they will be fine.

it's easy to do, just have to solder two wires together.

Sorry, haven't been able to check, been busy.

Not really, if they are different sub, mean brand, size, shape and a lot of factor they wont play the music the same way, and they will be out of phase, not like inverted phase but a little and that's enough to make it sound bad.

Your aftermarket sub setup is pry putting out way more bass than the OEM setup. Just leave it dead.

Yes and no, I forgot to think about this, sorry, but it's not the shape, size, or brand so much.

They are getting the same signal from the deck. Where it changes is what the sub is able to play. The factory sub will only work within a certain frequency range, where as the after market sub will have a wider range. So your after market will hit a low note, and the stock sub will just be sitting there. Also it having different amps will have an impact on it because it won't be amplifying the sound the same way.

And like toypaseo said, you might as well leave it not working. I only said it was possible cause it sounded like it was important to you.
