Anyone tried one of those wal-mart 134a recharge cans on a 5.0?
Hi all, I searched for a while and still don't know a whole lot about those do it yourself A/C kits- or exactly how to do them on a V-8 explorer. If anyone has advice on how to do it, or a link to a really good thread, I'd love to know more about it. I only have basic tools and I also need to know what all I would have to buy to do the job. My AC worked fine this spring, but mysteriously stopped a few weeks ago. Anything else I should check first? How do I make sure my system is functioning properly minus coolant?
Sorry for all the questions, I really need help here. My Girlfriend has heart issues and no A/C is a real problem for her. (I'd just roll down the windows myself) Thanks again, Brian __________________ My other obsession: www.probetalk.com , and keeping a 1993 Ford Probe GT with 220,000 on the road!

Usually as freon drops out, it gradually loses cooling capacity. If your Ex was working great this spring but all of a sudden stopped- it's more likely a part failure than freon...
