Anyone tried one of those wal-mart 134a recharge cans on a 5.0?

Anyone tried one of those wal-mart 134a recharge cans on a 5.0?

Hi all, I searched for a while and still don't know a whole lot about those do it yourself A/C kits- or exactly how to do them on a V-8 explorer. If anyone has advice on how to do it, or a link to a really good thread, I'd love to know more about it. I only have basic tools and I also need to know what all I would have to buy to do the job. My AC worked fine this spring, but mysteriously stopped a few weeks ago. Anything else I should check first? How do I make sure my system is functioning properly minus coolant?

Sorry for all the questions, I really need help here. My Girlfriend has heart issues and no A/C is a real problem for her. (I'd just roll down the windows myself)

Thanks again,
Brian

Usually as freon drops out, it gradually loses cooling capacity. If your Ex was working great this spring but all of a sudden stopped- it's more likely a part failure than freon...
