Question: Got my LEDs this morning! Need help.

Ok guys I got my LEDs off of Ebay this morning. 18,000mcd with resistors. How should I wire them? I want them in parallel. They are for under the dashboard and seats. Can someone give a diagram or just simply explain. Thanks a lot.

what i do is connect all the + on the led's, for the negatives after each LED you want to put a resistor before you connect it to the actual -, the resistors can go on the + or Negative side, i doesn't matter either way

like this

NOTE: the shorter side of the 2 thin wires coming out from the led is the - .
don't get them backwards or the wont work, led are polar sensitive

hope this helps

Thanks. I just started to solder all the the LEDs this afternoon. Going good so far. I went out and bought aluminium(spelling) "L" bars to use for my bracket. I am mounting them with a cement glue. One problem I just realised about 5 minutes ago.... I got to reglue all my LEDs because I made so the bottom of the LED rests on the top of the bar. This is fine except when one LED lead touches the bar it will short out all other LEDs because the leads are obvisouly not insullated. Now I need to reglue them to the little nob rests on the bar and not the actual bottom.

i use ABS glue (plumbing section) to insulate mine, i also use perfboard so i don't have to worry about that problem, then i use adhesive to mount it to whatever.
