Purchased used Ford Ranger 1FTZR15E91TA222155
Just Purchased: http://autos.aol.com/used-detail-162...rd-Ranger-2001 yesterday VIN no: 1FTZR15E91TA222155 with 61,400 miles.
Used VIN Decoder to get lowdown: 4.OL OHC FI engine. As you can see from Photo, body and interior is nice but I can't determine until I pickup the car what bed size and trim kit is on this vehicle. Can anyone tell from the photo? Also: [LIST=1][*]What can I expect trouble wise with this engine say in the next 60,000 miles[*]What other issues can I expect with remainder of vehicle in the next 60,000 miles[*]Undercarriage shows effect of upstate NY winters in that their is significant rust on frame, drive shaft, axles, and in areas surrounding original shocks and probably original brakes Can I sandblast these areas without hurting vehicle and what kind of protection should I put on it (epoxy paint)?[*]dealer has labels and new housing on rear differential. Can anyone tell me what they probably did?[*]Is their anyone who is a subscriber to carfax or similar tracking service and could provide me with the history of this vehicle? Bed does not have a liner and although not rusted shows normal loading unloading wear. Would you recommend a certain type of liner? Tonneau cover is snap type. I couldn't stretch it enough to complete snapping the end snaps. Any suggestions on modifying this cover (e.g adding velcro)? Seems a shame to throw out and get another more like video http://video.aol.com/video-detail/to...id=VIDURVCOM03 |

Welcome to the site, we can't provide any Carfax information since technically its against their Terms of Service to use it for someone else. Its probably from the looks of it, a supercab XLT model with power windows or atleast mirrors.. I see what I suspect are power mirrors.

Maybe it's something people do, but I've never heard of sand blasting a vehicle for that stated reason. Is this the VIN decoder you used?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to tell just looking at the pictures if that truck has the power options (mirrors, windows, locks). On that year, the mirrors would look the same from the outside if they are manual or power. It's not an XLT. The painted bumpers indicate that it is an Edge. The step side bed only came in 6 foot length. Before tossing that tonneau cover, throw it in the dryer and heat it up. This should help with being able to stretch it out to reach the snaps.
