how many spline is the rear axle shaft? there's a difference in axles lengths in an f150 and f250? do i need a new carrier for 5.13? carrier break is at 4.10s i hear is 5.13 enough for 39.5s? since i dnt have 600 bucks do u think alloy u joints will hold up to 39.5s with stock shafts and open diff?[ill be welding it shut once i get alloys. thanxs ps i never went this over kill on my cherokee and i wanna make sure im right so |

Rear D60s out of those trucks usually have 30 spline shafts.
IMO, those axles are not enough for 39.5" tires, even with alloy shafts & u-joints they're marginal. I'd go 37" tires max. 5.13 is a good ratio for 37" tires (5.38 would be better if you don't have the 4.0L, provided that ratio is available for the reverse-cut D44) __________________ '90 Bronco II XLT 5" lift (Skyjacker jeep coils), locked D35 & 8.8", 5.13s, double T-case, 35x12.50s & cut fenders '94 Ranger XLT 6" Skyjacker, ARB D44 front, Detroit 8.8" rear, Atlas 4.3, 33s |
