2008 Explorer V8 Saving Gas?

Hi, I had a quick question. 2 days ago, I installed two summit racing electric exhaust cut outs on my 2008 ford explorer. We had to remove the resonator to make it fit perfectly. I noticed the digital reading on my screen said I had more gas left!? When I left my home, it said 420 km to empty. After I got the cut outs installed, it said 433km to empty? Mind that I did drive 50kms in between. When I used to fill up, it used to average 450km/tank, I filled up today it said 570km to empty!. Could it be a computer issue? , or is my suv really saving 120km/tank more?

And yes, the exhaust cut outs sound amazing on that 4.6 litre!

Well they are illegal here in mississauga, ontario as well I believe. I got pulled over yesterday, before the cop could even hear anything I switched the cut outs off. He was a older cop so he asked me what was underneath the hood. I showed him the switch and he told me to hit it!. The smile on his face was priceless, he let me off without a hitch. I'll post pics and videos of it soon. It sounds so amazing!. Like a open header mustang!

Glad to hear you got a break! I'd love to give my STA a bit more bark, and still retain the quiet instantly with at the touch of a switch. Too Cool! I can hardly wait to see it and hear it. Will you be putting a video clip on YouTube? Can I buy the same setup from a website? Would you recommend me asking my local Ford dealer to do the installation?
