What maintenance would you recommend?
For about 4 years I was traveling extensively and as a result my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac did not get much use. I changed the oil on a regular basis, fixed an A/C problem a couple of years ago, and changed the transmission fluid about a year ago. That's about it...
Now I want to do some preventive maintainance at a local repair shop and would like some advice as to what I should pursue. The Sport Trac has about 100K, runs good. I am thinking about a radiator flush and tune-up.... any other recommendations? I am sure all sorts of services will be recommended to me at the repair shop, but for obvious reasons I do not want to overpay and perform unnecessary maintenance |

If you haven't already a transmission flush would be a good idea.
Radiator flush is smart too. New spark plugs and wires can't hurt, as well as a new air filter. Get the brakes checked out (although I'm sure you would notice if there was something wrong with them) and also have the steering/front suspension components looked at (tie rods, ball joints). Also may want to consider changing the shocks if it hasn't been done recently. Fairly inexpensive and it makes a large difference in handling/ride quality. And if you just want to cover all your bases get your fuel filter changed too. That's all I can think of. __________________ It's nothing time and money can't fix... +1 on above suggestions. definetly change out the shocks and sway bar endlinks if it hasn't been done already, huge difference.
