91 will not stay on

Hey guy,I am having some serious problems and I hope someone can help me out. First, my 1991 explorer sport will not stay on, it starts fine if it has not been started for awhile but then will die. Second if you do get it going and have to come to a stoplight or stop sign then it will cut off there, every time you stop. Third while driving, not always but it happens often, if I come out of second (its a manual) and go into third, or am in third, it will start stalling then shut completely off then when it hits the 2,000 RPM it comes back on by itself. I have absolutely no idea what is going on with it, I have been driving it for 5 years and nothing like this has ever occurred. Any advice would be great!!! Thanks

Check engine light on? Get it running and see if you hear any hissing anywhere under the hood, this sounds like it could be a vacuum leak.

The list of what could cause this is pretty long. If you have a check engine light, then read the codes (sticky in this forum or get a shop to do it). Bring the codes back here.

If you do not have a light, then another thing to look at is fuel pressure.

I was thinking dirty MAF or IAC for the start and instant die thing.... But I also agree with roadrunnner see if there is a vacuum leak.
