Nope, still just 3.55 and 3.73. The diffs are all the same type of aluminum housing 31 spline 8.8 IRS.

My rear diff came out of an aviator...it was 3.73 and looks exactly like the stock one. I regeared it to 4.10. Still have the stock diffs sitting on the shelf in case I need/want to go back to stock or need spares.

One thing I forgot about is that around 2005 I am pretty sure they took the tone ring out of the diff and put individual ones at the ends of the axles where they go into the hubs....so the later ones don't have an ABS sensor on them as far as i know since those are built into the hubs. Other than that they are the same though; and gearing was only offered in 3.55 and 3.73 ratios.

My 04' has tone rings at each of the rear wheels. I had to have one replaced due to ABS issues(broken ring) I'll have to investigate.

Good info Strike; sounds like they made the change in mid-to-late 04 (mine's an early 04 and has the tone ring in the diff)

Just checked the production date, it's 12/03. So a very early 04'. Axle Code 46: 3:73 Open.

don't know how i missed this, but brian, youll have to use wheel spacers if you plan to keep your stock 17's with 285s, otherwise there is not enough clearence between the tire and steering knuckle.

I've got 1.25" hubcentric wheel spacers for just that reason. According to my math that ought to be enough..... Think that'll work?

It might be close. One inch is 25.4 mm so that plus about 6.3mm should put you around +12 offset roughly. I thought you need 0 offset minimum to have enough clearence but stock rims are narrower at what 7 inches wide? So you may be fine
