2000 Xplorer XLT-4.0-SOHC-Humming under hood???

I have a 2000 Explorer XLT-4.0-SOHC...Problem: There is a humming under the hood that I hear only when the truck idling, once you give it a little gas it goes away. It seems to be worse in the summer months when I am using the A/C, but the noise is still there without A/C as well just not as loud. Im thinking it has something to do with the air-intake??? Not sure....any ideas????
