235/85R16 fit a 2003 XLS?

Can anyone tell me if 235/85R16 tires will fit my 03 XLS? It currently has 235/70R16's. Any upsides or downsides to worry about?

I really dont think those would fit right unless you had a lift of some sort. Its just a very tall tire. Not too mention it might look just a bit strange with all that tire in there.

I was pondering the idea of switching out my 235/70/16' for 75 series which is pretty common still. Its just a little taller than stock.

Im not sure of any up or downs. Not for a 75 series tire but an 85 would have to have more downs than ups. My 0.02.

Thanks for the reply...I had a chance to buy 4 good used for $75 but I passed. I'll stick to the stock size!

235/85r16s will fit possibly with minor rubbing. lots of members on here run 265/75r16 tires on their stock wheels on their truck with no lifts. a 265/75r16 is roughly 31.65" tall x 10.43" wide, a 235/85r16 is roughly 31.73" tall x 9.25" wide. being that the 235 is wider there is a chance they won't rub at all, but irregardless, they should fit
