Exclamation Help, annoying ticking noise

So I just bought an 04 ST 2wd, and I've gotten most everything fixed up that needed to be fixed (brake light replaced, wheel bearing tightened). She runs fine, occasionally I'll lose RPMs and it'll seem like the engine is stalling or something, but that's another issue for another time...
Right now my problem is in the front drivers side area. Whenever the truck is shaken, bounced, or rocked, I hear a tick. I can't hear it or it doesn't happen while I'm in forward or reverse motion, just stationary. What is it and what could I do?

the inconsistent rpm might be a vacum leak. check the sticky on the p0171/p0174 check engine codes. this might be your culprit. also, if you hear a ticking noise in your engiine, check your oil and see if it is low. if it is, you could have low oil pressure which is causing your engine to make that noise. it could also be something worse, the timing chain tensioner could be broken which is bad. does it make the ticking noise when you first start it in the morning and then seem to go away as you drive it and get the engine warm?

The ticking seems to be coming from the suspension in the front drivers side. Sorry about the confusement with all the excess info about rpm drops and whatnot :/

...very closely. Try turning top or bottom with a wrench. May appear ok, but be busted inside plastic spacer.
