removing upper intake manifold
The following link should help with the upper intake manifold. Just ignore the parts about installing the kit.
Starting my 00M12 Installation The thermostat housing is expensive. It is cheaper to buy the upgrade kit on eBay than to purchase a new housing from the dealer. The upgraded housing has clip in sensors instead of the screw in sensors that spin in the housing and then leak. I'll try to find some links. __________________ My Helpful Threads, Registry, 16.4/23 mpg, 3900 lbs, 5R55E, 3.73:1, 175 rwhp, Henson custom tune, CAI, Spectre air filter, Lightning 90mm MAF, 75mm throttle body, A/F ratio meter, synthetic oils, Accusump, 2 row radiator, 3+1 leaf springs, .75 inch drop, Edelbrock IAS lowering shocks, engine oil & ATF temp gauge & remote filters & coolers, remote crank |

Excellent reference links. Highly recommended you change the coolant bypass hose.
(Motorcraft KM-3269). Much easier while you have the lower thermostat housing off. |
