newb tire question

My all-wheel drive explorer has 16" tires on it, I want to get bigger/wider tires. I read the other posts but they recommend 31x10.5x15. Does that matter or do I just get 31x10.5x16?

You'll want a 235/85 16 or a 265/75 16. They're both 31's but the 235 is 9" wide vs 11" on the 265
