I just ordered a 2013 Explorer!

We just got back from placing our order for a 2013 AWD XLT.

We previously owned a Limited Flex but had nothing but problems with it. Dealer made us a solid offer on the trade and ordered one to our specs.

Looking forward to the arrival of our Explorer!

Congrats......I recognized you got the headrest DVD system. I can't believe how much those go for nowadays. May want to consider getting a couple IPad 3's. It would save you money and no DVD's to carry around. Just a thought as it works great for us and our 2 little ones.

Thanks for the welcomes guys.

Re: The DVD Headrest vs iPads. We went that route last time and regretted it. Didn't get the DVD headrest in the Flex and we were forever chasing cords and chargers and wires for headphones and worried that they would get dropped or stepped on.

Nope this time, we are getting them built in with the wireless headphones. It is very expensive. The aftermarket is an option but this way, they are financed in with the loan. I don't like the idea of the kind that you strap on for fear that in the event of an accident, the monitors and the player become projectiles in the car. Not to mention all those wires running here and there.

Did I mention I also hate clutter...

Bummer that Ford introduces the ecoboost option just after I placed my order. If there was information out about when I could order one and expected it delivered, I'd be tempted to cancel my order. Had the ecoboost in my Flex and it's what I will miss the most about that car.

Too early. Posts here say you see sticker 5-7 days before build.

Ordered a bunch of goodies today. Weathertech digital fit mats for all the rows and a caro liner. Also ordered mud flaps and a Hood deflector.

Like having all this stuff ready and waiting for the car when it gets here.

Can't wait for the Explorer to get here. Spent the day cleaning the garage up from winter so I'll have room to install the mud flaps and bug shield.

Did you ask if the dealer would throw in the installation. I had mine throw in the splash guards and the installation as part of the deal.

I just drove home in a 2013 Explorer Limited. I've got a Blackberry Torch 9800. It synced right away -- voice commands working fine -- but thus far the text message alert doesn't work and the texts aren't showing up. Might just be a settings issue -- as I'm now way to exhausted to play with it anymore tonight. All suggestions are welcome!

Congratulations Steve62 and welcome to the Forum.
I don't use text messaging so I can't help you with that. I'm sure other members will step up.
Happy motoring.

A huge congrats, Steve62! Have you figured out why your texts weren’t showing up? Shoot a PM to Rebecca, on the In-Vehicle Technology Team (username: FordIVTteam), and she can help with troubleshooting. She’s great!

Your garage can only get so clean, Shomare!

I can help by keeping track of the latest updates! So I can do that, please send your VIN and/or order number & dealer code/dealer name.

Cory
