96 explorer with a 99 drivetrain

Whats up guys,i have a 96 sport with all 99 drivetrain and im looking for a 99 ecu,its a 4x4,4.0,5spd auto,sohc 2 door.im having a hard time finding the correct ecu.is there a site that has ecu id numbers so I can find one?

the 99 ecu wont work, your 96 is missing the PATS components

You're gonna need the ECU, and all the corresponding PATS components to make it work, not just the ECU...

I shouldve add'd that the truck has all the inside electronics also,the donor 99 was a 4door and the 96 a 2 door,it runs and drives but something drains the battery after a few days of no driving,im thinking its from the rear windows not being hooked up.the only thing that is 96 is the body and frame,everything else is 99.sorry I didnt add all this earlier,my phone was acting up since thats how im posting this lol

nope, that's not the cause, cos I've done mine the same way... you've probably got something that's not shutting off somewhere... or a bad GEM
