Question System pop

I know this has probably been asked hundreds of times on here but I really don't know why my speakers pop. I've searched around the forum but I can't seem to find what I need when I need it. The first sound system I had( which only involved a monoblock & two 10's) never made a thump when I turned on/off the stereo. When I installed my current system (mono + two 12's) I noticed a thump everytime I turned off the stereo. At the moment I didn't mind but I recently installed another amp ( 4 channel) & it makes 2 speakers pop when the stereo is turned on. I really don't think it can be where I grounded them because I change the locations from where each were grounded to & still no luck.

Does anyone know why my door speakers pop when the stereo is turned on & why my subs pop everytime the stereo is turned off? Thanks.

I know you can buy some products that will delay turn-on also.

sounds like the pop your hearing is your Remote to your amps , normally its because its turning the amp on and off at the same time as radio and you get interference because the amp is turning on without any signal input , Sounds like what i have dealt with before on and install years ago ,

So what do you think I should do to avoid this "pop"? I remember reading somewhere that after having more that three accessories that are running with the same remote wire, a relay has to be installed..? & I think this goes for me b/c I'm running an eq, 2 amps, and a bass reconstructor with the same remote wire.

I Would use more than one remote wire , find another 12v source coming from your head unit

Is that the only solution? The fact that I would have to run more wires doesn't sound fun anymore haha.

I just did this in my Sport Trac last week! BIG POP when the HU turned on the amp. Put this baby and it worked like a charm!...... Use this voltage regulator....

I think it was $1.99....felt silly carrying it in a bag!

Rock on!!

So I installed one these voltage regulators and it just made the pop from the subwoofers quieter. I can still hear the pop a bit, but not to the point where it was annoying me.
So afterall, the regulator reduced the pop from the sub amp but not from the 4 channel amp. The pop from the 4 channel app is still loud. I even checked to see if the speakers were connected wrong, but they arent.
Does this mean I have to buy another regulator and install it before the 4 channel amp?

Btw, I am supposed to connect this on the remote turn on wire right? Or am I wrong?

They way I understand is that the OEM system uses lower voltage (5V) to turn on the factory amp(s). My JVC HU sends 12 volts out on the remote turn-on wire, so you get the big pop. If you are using factory amps and wiring check to make sure you are only sending 5 volts to the amp turn-ons. My harness adapter had two separate sets of wires (+ & -) for remote switching. So, depending on your harness, you may need two of the little regulators.

Hope this helps.....
