Hey I'm new and I was wondering if any one had any suggestions for makeing a 99 ranger into a riceburner eating machine. Anything would be helpful. Thanks

i remember a while back the guys on trucks! builing a little ford ranger, (it was actually a mazda B) into a little rodder. im kind of fuzzy on it, but i think the basically took the insides of a late 90's cobra and jammed it all in there.

It's already a rice eater my explorer has yet to lose to a ricer. And it's a 4 door, 4.0 ohv, with 154,xxx miles. Oh, and an auto tranny. Far from fast, but those fart machines still don't stand a chance

One of the best feelings is when one of those piles of different colored primer "vehicles" with the 6" fartcan tip pulls up next to me and "tries" to race. Ive had about 7 or 8 of them pull up next to me and TRY.

Needless to say, I SMOKE them from takeoff, to the long run. Then they just stay way back and wont pull up at the next light lol.

well fellas, consider yourselves lucky that you dont have to deal with any rice rockets that are actually fast where you live. out here where i live is the birth place of those freaking things and those little bastards are everywhere. most of them are all show and no go, but every once in a while you run into one that is actually pretty fast. theres even one guy out here who is famously pushing around a 500 hp honda crx. it doesnt even look like much either, kind of a sleeper, and he waits for guys in mustangs and camaros to mess with him, then he blows thems out. him and his friends even post videos of it on youtube. when i still had my little hatchback civic, i jokingly did a build of it as if i was making a rice rocket, but instead of trying to make it go faster, i strippied it down to get as much mpg as i could out of it for my commutes. no ac, no ps, the tiniest wheels you could find and stripped down for weight. i even went with the dual port injection manifold instead of the multiport to reduce hp and save mpg's. i was down to about 70 hp instead of posting new 1/4 mile times or dyno tests like most guys in rice rockets do, i would joke around and post new records in how many miles i went on one tank.

I doubt its 500 hp with the stock motor. Not impossible, just unlikely. Even still, don't care how much hp a civic has, it's still fwd and I'll beat it to 30 mph

If theyre actually modding the engine and or drivetrain to put out power like that, and its not all bodywork, then I dont consider it a ricer.

Some people prefer a little V6 or 4 cyl. with power, than a big bad V8. I would choose the V8 any day of the week.

Around me, theres TONS of them, but its pure rice. All bodykits, no engines. Cheap taillights, every panel is either a different color, or primered.
