Intro and a question

New to the explorer scene, usually a full size truck guy. Picked up a 01 explorer xlt for the wife and want to do a small lift just to give it a beefy stance. Looking to run no bigger than a 33 since it is her DD. What would be suggestions on this? Ive heard get a drop shackle for the back and crank the tortion bars, but will this affect anything else? Does it need an alignment or anything after that is done? Again Im used to having solid axles never had to deal with IFS. It is 4wd.

Thanks

there are a ton of posts on this, and a whole section on lifts on this forum for more detail, but the general rule of thumb for a simple lift to slap 33"s on is shackles or add a leafs in the rear and torsion twist up front. dont twist higher than 2" on front or you may cause long term damage to your cv joints. with this setup you should be able to get some 33"s under there but you will also need to do some trimming. welcome to the forum!

this is my X with warrior #153 shackles and torsion twist to fit 33" duratracs. similar to your plans.
