Hey James,

The bumper is great, Love how clean and good looking it is.
Will post picture later.
One thing i do need if you can make it a slight spacer for where the rear tire mounts to the studs.
Let me know the cost

Thanks
Chris

I am interested in additional add onto the rear bumper with rear tire carrier
that I ordered and have installed. I looking for bracket or swingout attachment for a Jerry can one or two

Get back to with a design and cost when you get the chance

Bringing this back up. I would also be interested in this bumper if it had a jerry can attachment with the tire carrier.

I can do it. Somewhere I had a dual Jerry can mount, but here is a pic of a Suburban tire carrier with single jerry can mount.

Probably $350 plus shipping for tire carrier with above style jerry can mount when purchased with bumper.

Let me know if there are any other questions.

Thanks,

James

What about a jerry can attachment for your rear bumper you have designed

You didn't attach the photo

Also, you noted a price "when purchased with bumper"... what if I bought just the tire carrier w/jerry can mount without your bumper, and installed them on the one I have?

I suppose I could do the same price, as I don't have to fit it. You'll have to weld on the pin and misc other bracket to the bumper.

I wrote "with purchase of bumper" because I don't make much on the tire carrier itself, but I guess if I don't have to fit it, I'd be fine with the price.

Sorry about the photo, here are two.

Parli22, I can make something to work with your tire carrier, but need to know how much room you have...maybe a pic would help.

Basic Jerry can is a 7x14 inch footprint.

As always, I can make custom versions of anything if you have a different or better idea.

Thanks!

Jamscal - what would be the cost for a rear bumper like the one above with the tire carrier, and the Jerry Can Mounts?

I can say for a fact that the Jerry can mount can shove a hole into a Cadillac trunk no problem and still come out straight.

$450 for the bumper shipped to your door. It includes clevis mounts, integral hitch and can be modded to fit a body lift. Just let me know at the time of order if you have one.

Basic tire carrier is another $300

Tire carrier with single or dual jerry can mount: $350

It will look similar to the above pictured mounts.

I'll have to add shipping to the tire carrier based on your zip, but $25-35 should cover it.

Thanks for all the interest,

James

Thanks for that info!! Let the savings begin.

One other question:

If I sent you my stock bumper. Would it be possible to reinforce it and then build the tire carrier onto the stock bumper?

I like to keep my truck as stock looking as possible.

Actually that was my idea also... I'd be very interested if it can be done on a reinforced stock bumper. I'd even drive up there and you could build it right on the vehicle.

I think it's possible but might not be practical. I have an Explorer rear bumper in my pile 'o bumpers so I'll take a look at it after next week...

On another note, everyone wonders what to do with a lic plate on these bumpers. Here is a possible solution I made for a customer a while back, a combo receiver hitch step/plate holder.

Damn, that looks good! (and free bump)

If I ever get the cash together I need to get one of these. Any idea about how much this weighs total?

Hey James, what's the timeline on building a rear steel bumper? My lifted '03 Sport Trac was rear ended last month and really don't wanna replace the stock "plastic bumper cover and plastic reinforcement" with just another plastic bumper. I would build my own but due to work and my 6 month old son I don't have the time. I already built a cutsom swing out tire carrier and have it welded to the body lift bumper brackets, I can just remove it from the brackets and weld it to the bumper or notch the bumper for the spindle and latch. I like the your work and design.

Here's a couple picture's of the rear bumperwith the tire carrier, cover and without the cover so you can how it looks. I haven't seen any of your bumpers on a Sport Trac so I can't wait to see how it looks.

Oh, how much would you say your bumpers weigh? I'd like to add some weight (not too heavy but more then the plastic) because the bed is fiberglass so the ass end is really lite.

I can take any measurements you'd need, just let me know what measurements you need. I know the Sport Trac has different frames and different width's then the Explorer's.

Thanks man, can't wait to hear from ya.

My rear bumpers are about 70lbs I think with integral hitch.

Yours looks a bit wider than my 2nd gen explorer bumper,

It would be best for me to build it on the vehicle, but it looks like you can make any mods necessary.

Frame width and how it mounts onto the frame, hole locations, overall width and height of the bumper will get us started.

I'd like a pic of the frame too.

Thanks,

James
