my friends 2500 threw a clutch switch malfunction code and now its completely dead!

hey fellas, i know this is a ford forum, but i know the guys here have a ton of knowledge outside of the oval and i was hoping someone could help me help an old friend.

my friends dad has a 2002 chevy 2500 with the 6.0L motor. its a manual tranny and his truck is completely dead. he told me the day before it died he was driving home and his CEL came on. he scanned it and got P507 and P704. 507 is an idle control RPM malfunction, and the 704 is listed as a clutch switch malfunction code. the clutch switch is similar to a brake switch, and its a little mechanism with a spring in it that when the clutch is depressed, it allows the car to get electrical power. well after he scanned the codes he wrote them down and the next morning his truck was completely dead. no power, nothing. it was like the battery was missing.

well we checked the battery and its reading at 15 volts, but there is no power whatsoever in his truck. he unhooked the battery and after another night he is getting a buzzing sound near the fuse box but the only sign of power at all is the engine light faintly lights up. its as if his ecu got fried or something. we cant figure it out, and he cant afford a major repair and the biggest thing is he runs his own commercial landscaping business and his truck is his lifeline. i really want to find him some sort of starting point on how to diagnose it because hes a really good man. he gave me a job when i was 19 and laid off way back in the day, and hes the type of guy who would give a stranger the shirt off his back.

any help with this would be really appreciated. thanks guys.
