My friend has the same colors as I do, but in the 1" tiles and also with a lighter colored grout. It looks really good, but my wife and I like the grout to not stand out too much.

I'm going to try and get the doors back on tonight (I'm tired) and the kitchen will be very close to done. Just a couple of small projects left.

I need to thank Dave (DB_1) again for coming out and painting the kitchen. My wife and I are very happy with how it came out!

Next we need to find knobs and pulls. It's getting there.

Looks great! I acutally prefer the black appliances vs stainless steel. After knobs and pulls, what's the next project?

It came out really nice. What kind of paint did you use on the doors (semi gloss, latex, oil, etc)?

Thanks and although stainless really nice, I agree about the black appliances! I'd like to do something that probably should have been done before Dave even came out the first time, which is to get some trim for the bottom of the hanging cabinets and some wainscoting for the back of the lower cabinets (in the dining room) to hide my uncle's shotty work... . I also want to finish the "cubby" under the butcher block and get a couple of low back stools to slide in there.

Thanks, Brooklyn!

All of the white paint in the kitchen is BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® Semi-Gloss Enamel, which is a 100% acrylic paint and primer in one with advanced stain-blocking formula that will change the way you paint. The paint on the walls is the same paint, but a flat finish.

Thanks Ted, I'll keep that in mind, but the cheapest I found of his (even remotely like we want) was $4.13/knob! Yikes! We found one we like for half that at Home Depot/Target.

What he said. The cabinets were raw wood and smooth from the get go but I still gave them a good sanding with 220 grit and smoothed over the sharp edges from milling so the paint will stick better. I then primered everything with Bullseye 1-2-3 water based primer. The Behr Premium Plus Ultra seems like a decent paint but I don't trust it to do primer duties as well.

Kitchen looks great all put together Colin

Looking good Colin. It will look even better over the next few years with little hand prints all over the white cabinets.

The lower parts are already taking a beating. Wesley is getting pretty quick in this.

Dave is back for the weekend to hang out and paint the front room. Progress for today.

http://www.ebbradley.com I think they are contractor only so you might need help to buy direct from them.

http://sandiegohardware.com They have a pretty good selection.

Finished up the knobs and pulls tonight. We ended up finding a different style at Lowes and they were cheap! We think they look great too.

A few panoramas of the kitchen.

Looks great! We were debating between brushed nickel and oil-rubbed bronze, but ended up with oil-rubbed bronze. I think the brushed nickel works best for you against the white.

What is the open spot in the upper cabinet for when looking towards the dining room?

They aren't nickel, they're actually pewter, which looks very close to it. They have a little bit of black in the "creases" which makes them look real good with the white and black.

That opening is going to be a wine rack. I'm going to get some white PVC, cut them to length and paint them. Something like this:

Tubes would look cool, but how about this idea...

Put the holed board toward the back of the opening, so all you see if the bottom of the bottles, and they are magically floating...

Or just- you know, drink them as fast as you can buy them instead of worrying about bottle storage in the first place...

Looks awesome Colin- the black appliances really look good. SS would have gotten lost in there. Nice choices!
