Lifted ST with new flares & MTRs

I installed the EGR flares (painted to match truck) and got a new set of 35x12.5-16 Goodyear MT/Rs. Man those things (tires) must be 50% gold or something (1000.00 for the set of 4) But everything I looked up really talked highly of them (check back with me in 30,000 miles & I'll let ya know if it's true)

Shabbadoobie, the truck looks great! What type of gas milage do you get with those tires? Did you replace the gears?

Gas mileage? whats that?
These things don't get mileage worth a poop to begin with but I'm guessing around 11?
I haven't changed gears yet--- It came with 4.10 Limited slip rear axle & with the 35s it gives me a new ratio of around 3.53 or so. Still has good acceleration (for a heavy vehicle) With what little mods I've done I.E: dual exhaust (not true dual though) and K&N, I G-tech @ around 9 sec. for 0-60 & it used to be 8.5 so I've lost a little of the "off the line" performance------ But I think the look of the big-ol-tires is worth it.

I just gotta ask you guys somethin' and make an observation. Are all the people on this board extrordinarily civil or what gives?
I frequent this board quite a bit & can't believe how well everyone seems to get along. I don't see a bunch of childish bickering & people puttin' down other peoples rides & crap like that.
I get a lot of info from the Sport Trac site & share with the folks over there on a regular basis. I don't get negative responses on my ST or anything, But there seems to be a lot of competition within the other members & a lot of "arguing" etc.
Just wanted to commend you guys for having a well run site & say Thanks.

well the lack of childish bickering is something that makes this site unique. Anytime it starts there is a moderator there to delete, modify, or warn a user. I think we owe a big thanks to most of the moderators of this site. It is truely a family site.

BTW: I love your ST.

Good price.
Actually mine are the 315-75-16 which is a touch larger then 35-15s (like .2) and they have those for 173.
But you gotta add shipping, Mounting, Balance, road hazard etc. Thats why I paid the grand---That & the fact that I have a "Iwant it NOW" attitude and the dealer had 1 set in stock.
Around here it was hard as he** to find a tire dealer with 315s in stock, And get this----- some of the shops weren't equipped to balance a tire that size (coopers for one) Weird huh? Thats Kansas for you I guess.

not sure if they are the exact same model, but i know people who get GI surplus Hummer tires for about $75 each... but those are for 16.5" rims

Cool

shabbadoobie - This site is very cool! I used to own a Trans am and hung out on the thirdgen site. Man, there are some very bad people there. I would never let them know about this site or they would be trashing it.

Tbomb- Hey buddie! I have been working like a dog, but I took a vacation to LA to soak up some sunshine!!! How's it going?

Later,
Rogue
