Unhappy

Recently, my A/C compressor has not been coming on when I push the button. All that happens is a rhythmic "click" from under the hood near the fuse relay. After the click, the engine revs very slightly. Then the cycle repeats itself. I jumped the compressor, and it came on, so I know it is still good. There must be a wire short somewhere. Has anyone had this problem?

Mine does the exact same thing. I don't use the A/C much though. Sorry I couldn't help.

Talking

When the A/C is low on refrigerant, the clutch will turn on, then off, then on, .... It is pretty annoying to have it clicking all the time. But, that's what I've been told it does when the system is low on refrigerant. Mine does that too, and that's because I never used the A/C and it leaked out all the refrigerant. I hope this sheds some insight to your clicking compressor.

I had the same problem this weekend. I jumped the compressor form where the silver bottle is on the passenger side is and it came on. I then had the system checked for refrigerant and it checked ok. I then replace the valve on the bottle and its working ok now. There is a wire coming from the A/C to this silver bottle. valve is only a couple of dollars.
