there is no need since there is no outside contaminants to get in. i replaced the 80k fluid the other day and it would have been fine for another 80k but i had to remove the cooler to get access to stuff

Stop by your local friendly NAPA auto parts store and ask them for an inline auto tranny filter. This is acutally a very good add-on. I've installed them on Jeeps for many years with great results.

That looks just like it should be. Might want to add a cooler in your return line also.

Its a slick unit. However, since I have an air dam, I am not sure how effective it is; got to be better than nothing.

Isn't that a little over doing it. Unless you drive your Explorer in the desert all day, I don't think that is necessary. But hey, whatever floats your boat, Al.
