MY new 99 has a am/fm/cass/cd system. Has anyone had problems playing burned cd's on one of these units? There might be something wrong with the unit itself, but just wanted to see if anyone else has had any problems, and what kind of problems...

burned cds are a little iffy... the burns aren't like an original cd from the factory. the reactive film on home-burnt CDRs does not really last as long as original cds - in time, they degrade especially if you leave them in your car where the env. conditions vary greatly.

with that in mind, i do have problems sometimes playing burnt CDs on my X's head unit- but i've always had terrible luck with optical drives cauz i move my computer a lot (esp. when i was going to school in NY but travelled back home to MD quite often).

One thing you might want to try to do is to check out other manufacturer's CDR cauz not all CDR discs are created equal.

just my $0.02

Id agree with the above, also try a slower burn speed. My OEM system sted acting up with burned didscs then even had probs with OEM CD's. It precipitated my getting a new system, $3k later I have no acoustic problems :)
