I have a 2004 Explorer XLT and was recently in an accident ($6000) its been repaired now, but my brake lights stay on even after turning the car off. If I pull the brake pedal up with my foot it will turn it off. I am just wondering if it maybe a spring or a sensor or something.

Yea there is a brake pedal sensor. Sometimes you can just adjust it and itll be a temporary fix but your best off buying a new one.

Heres the part info from rockauto.
