i have a 2000 explorer and last night i lost my keys so today i removed the ignition cylinder and tryed to get it to start not a chance but it will turn over just wont start due to the anti theft system... so im wondering if theres a way i can get around the antitheft system ?thanks

The PATS security system was carefully designed so that it could not be bypassed. This is especially frustrating when trying to use this series of Explorer engines in other vehicles. PATS is disabling your fuel injection to prevent the engine from starting.

Bottom line is you have two choices: have the truck towed to a Ford dealer to create new keys or spend about $400 for a custom tune programming system which is capable of turning off PATS.

There is a 'sticky' above on PATS that explains the subject in far greater detail.
