Sorry I haven't updated.. I was literally working on getting the vehicle ready for the trip up until the morning of the start day. Luckily I was only 2 hrs away from the beginning point.
This trip was amazing.. there aren't any words to describe it. Even with rain EVERY SINGLE DAY, 3-5 hrs of sleep per night and a total of 2500 miles driven in 9 days I would do it again tomorrow! Lots of great wheeling, conversation, trail repairs and just an all around awesome time. Made some new friends, saw some amazing places and beat the snot out of the truck and drove it home without any major issues.
The locker blew out very first trail day, we were up till 2am in the hotel parking lot tearing the diff down and installing and welding spider gears. The first road day we made a stop at Clay Valley Dirt Park and I rolled it on its side.. twice. The rh quarter is kinda beat from that and the lh door and quarter got up close and personal with a rock at Adventure Outdoor Park on the last trail day. Came down hard on a rock with the rear cover and it started to leak.. had to put 2 quarts of fluid in at a gas stop, but no noises or issues.
Being around all those people with years of offroading experience and making connections with people in the sport was the highlight of the trip for me. You just can't get that anywhere else.. it is invaluable.
There are a few things I want to do to the truck for future expeditions and camping trips.. first will be a 5.0 swap that I have been putting off, then we will see about some axle upgrades. The narrowed 44 did great, and the 8.8 performed well also but there is always room for tons, i mean improvement.
I'm working on getting pics and vids up, easiest thing to do though is search
