Well decided to go ahead and replace the head unit in my 2000 Limited with Mach Audio with a New 7 inch Kenwood Excelon DDX9902S TouchScreen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

Install was very straight forward. Both steering wheel controls and rear console controls work with no issues.

Supports full mirroring on my android phone device along with Android Auto and Apple Car Play on my iPhone.

So far it is a great setup.

Looks good, and that Limited looks like it's fully loaded with every possible option.. Jealous.

Thanks. The unit is everything I hoped it would be and it is an awesome fit for the 2nd Generation Explorer.

Yes, my '00 has all the options including load leveling suspension, side air bags and rear parking sensors. I think the only one it is missing is the engine block heater. But you can always add stuff to your truck too as there are alot of Limiteds out there with options ready to be pulled and given new life (for cheap).

Here is a before and after shot after some of my recent work.

Oh, I know about pulling Limited parts off and adding them. I used to do it, hence my signature saying XL(imited). Just haven't found any junk yard seats worth taking yet.

As for those pics.. the spoiler and those rims.. are they the Saleen ones?!

How did you manage to get your hands on those..?

The owner of 2000-0023 posted on all the Saleen and Explorer forums he was parting out his truck. The wheels came from eBay.

Nice. Cherish those parts, very rare and hard to find.

Parts List?

MuscleJunkie,

I am looking to upgrade my HU you seem to have the exact stock set-up I have. Could you share your parts list that you used to make it happen. In order to get the steering wheel and rear controls to work?

Thanks,
Carlos
