I just bought a '97 Explorer and I'm having a little trouble with the sound system (or lack thereof). It had a pioneer aftermarket CD player in it when I bought it, which I removed to install my own Sony CD player. The Sony head unit is good, I took it out of my other truck. I am still getting no sound at all from any of the speakers. I used the wiring harness that plugs into the factory harness in the dash. The truck does have the rear seat audio controls and jacks. Could it be a problem with that? I noticed a button to switch between the headphones and speakers, tried pushing that but it didn't change anything. Any help would be appreciated.

You were right, it was the amp remote wire. I didn't have it hooked up on the head unit because the unit used to be in a 2002 F-150, which doesn't have the remote amp like my Explorer. Its working great now. Thanks for the help!
