Hello my name is Ronnie. owner of 1991 Ford Ranger.

Don't know if putting this question in right place.
Have 91 4wd ranger. 4wd went crazy bout yr ago and was advised to put lock in and out hubs on it. It was push button inside. Since then have went through 2 sets of hubs. the last time 4wd just kicked in at about 65 mph. was advised may be actuator so it was unplug and i decided to drive it in 2wd. That work for awhile now driver side front is kicking in itself. don't know to put another set of hubs on it or try fix the push button or automatic 4wd.

As you can tell not a mechanic but I like my truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I also had a problem where the hubs would try to engage on their own, even when in 2 wheel drive. It would make a "card in bicycle spokes" noise. The problem was actually worn u-joints in the front axle, somehow they were binding and putting pressure on the hub causing it to partially engage. So you might want to check your u-joints.
