I've been running the contour dual fans for better than 2 years now and they're mounted the same way, top to bottom with some space on the sides. Never had any problems, in any type of driving situations. These fans move more than enough air.

So how do you control them?

I had a thermostatic switch laying around and I wired one fan through that, then I just added a switch to the cab for the other one. I didn't want to wire them so both come on with the thermo-switch, I just thought it may be too much load at once. I plan to add another thermo swictch, or a nice controller in the near future.

I'm using a Painless Wiring dual fan controller http://www.painlessperformance.com/w...=4x4%20OffRoad
It's a little pricey as controllers go, but it has a bunch of nice features and remember you get what you pay for. Very nice unit, I like the operation of the fans, on the hottest days, even while trail riding, the truck never even gets close to running hot.

I played with one of the first Painless PWM controllers and was very impressed. If you are running a fan with 30 amps or more, it's the best option out there. For under 30 amps, I prefer the Spal. It has even more features than the Painless.

One thing I also did was pick up an ISSPRO VSS switch. My fans shut down completely at 50 mph with my Spal controller. If I recall, that is a built in feature of the Painless. That is a huge plus in my book.
