Hi,

I just picked up a '92 Explorer and Im changing the oil and filter today in order to get some Sea Foam in there for a few miles.
My question concerns the OIL PAN DRAIN BOLT, it has a NYLON CRUSH WASHER, that seems weird or incorrect to me.

Is this an error on the PO'ers part?

Oh, and what spark plugs seem to work best?
I used to fret over spark plug brands, at least on my motorcycle engines but it seems that cars and trucks are a bit more tolerant, any info is helpful.

Thanks

Drain Plug and Spark plugs

The nylon crush washer drain plug is a common replacement plug. I have them on my ex and my Lincoln. Not weird, just different. As for spark plugs if you use the search box can find many, many threads debating the pros and cons of different plugs. I think that the general consensus is just use stock motorcraft, because these engines are a little picky. Just my 2 cents.
